Well, good ole' Livejournal. It's been quite some time. I just never seem to think to post anymore. Oh well.

Looks like this will be the first year I miss the Vagina Monologues :( Sad. But I just can't find the time. Thursday I have class until 4 and a rehearsal at 5, and work from 7-9 at the church. And Friday night is work at Fred Meyer. This weekend I have 3 papers to write and work on Sunday and a choir rehearsal on Sunday night for Belshazzar's Feast. Oh man. Speaking of that, the Belshazzar Concert is going to rock. We were able to get most of the way through the other day with all appropriate dynamics and diction. Plus I know I've developed an emotional attachment to the music, which really is the reason to perform any piece. The struggle I find sometimes in choir is caring about a song that I just can't connect with. Of late however, I've been trying to just see if there was an aspect of the song that I could kind of see and then go with it and take ownership of a song that I didn't necessarily even like before. This method seems to work, and then the music sounds a lot better, thus helping you to appreciate the music more. I hope someday I can help kids to see the happiness that I find in singing and music in general. Good times.
Anyway, I have Aural skills next and a midterm in Instrumental Tech.

Have fun everyone.

By the way, I know I've been kind of short lately, ha ha get it, but no really, perhaps defensive. I'm sorry. I can't think of any problems I'm having at the present moment, and contrary to popular belief, I am not mad at anyone I promise.

ok sweet.

So my Interview went very well!
I hope I get this job, I really need it. Fred Meyer's the place, and I here's to hoping I'm their man for the job!

Rich, the manager of the Home Electronics Dept. was very friendly and easy to talk with. We were able to discuss the schematics and such of that particular department, and I left feeling very good about the whole thing.

I shouldn't get my hopes up, but I'm optimistic nonetheless.

Oh, and my girlfriend is the coolest woman in the world. Just saying.

Euro-update!
I'm in Amsterdam, waiting for my flight to London, so I thought I'd update. Things have been great around here. Said our goodbyes last night to the seniors moving on from school. Getting real jobs? What's that about? Anyway, that was kind of sad, but comforting at the same time, knowing that perhaps someday I might be able to financially support myself. Good times. We handed out choir awards and had elections yesterday. I'm the "Choir rep" for next year, which basically means, I'm on the council as a member at large with no specific responsibilities, but to do as I'm told. I can handle that methinks. And I also got the "my hero" award in Choir for giving backrubs to choir members when traveling tensions were high, and helping Nicole walk after she got her cast on her leg after dislocating her knee. Anyway, fun abounds.

It's so wierd to think that this trip is almost over. I'm sad on the one hand, but my bank account is also about empty, so it's good I'm coming back soon. It has definitely been an incredible and memorable experience!!

I'll talk to you all soon, it's off to London for a week, then San Francisco, then Corvallis to get a FREAKING JOB!!!

Later!!

Hi all, I can't talk long, I´m in an internet cafe, and I'm off to the Vienna State Opera soon. The Trip has been amazing so far, I just wish I could share it all with you. Prague is now my new favorite city, and Budapest is so Magical!!! We went on a guided tour of the Danube river last night, and I swear, I must go there again someday. I had no interpretation of just how great it all is. Tomorrow we fly to Bulgaria, and then we finish our trip. From there it#s off to London, for some fun and then Amsterdam again before the return home! Crazy. I hope eveyone else is enjoying their summer. And I hope to talk to you all soon! There are pictures to come, and Stories that will soon be told!

Cheers!!

Well then, I guess it's time for an update. An update past due.

Life's been quite busy as always , but great! I found out a little while ago that I received a scholarship in Music for next year. I was quite happy as you can probably imagine. And it really makes me feel good about what I'm doing, considering the faculty obviously instill some faith in me by granting me the scholarship, and it's a growing scholarship with potential for exponential growth. Anyway, that was awesome. Next, I've been to a few studio master classes this term to work on a couple of my pieces. The Comfort Ye and every Valley from Messiah are really coming along, and are really fun to sing, and Angus Dei by Bizet is like my new favorite song!! I love it. I was struggling near the beginning of the term because it sits relatively high, and there is a sequence of about eight measures or so that I really have to be in the proper placement for right away or I'm screwed for the rest of the song. However, after some work, and much appreciated advice from Linda Brice, that section is no longer worrisome, but exciting, and it really is what makes this song so great. Those awkward intervals, that high in the voice make it tense, but also passionate and great. Anyway, I hope I can do it justice in the future.

Juries are coming up, and I only have one song left to memorize, thankfully because of the Opera dispensation. But unfortunately, that last song is French, and that means learning syllable by syllable. Oh well, still a couple of weeks yet, so I'm hopeful!

Amy and I are doing great! We've had some much needed issues come up lately and had long discussions about them, and now we are both a lot better for it. Amy really is a spectacular person, and though she puts up with a lot of crap from me, I'm so thankful to have her in my life! Anyway, Awesome!

Umm. oh, I'm really excited about Europe! We leave Thursday of Finals week, so I've had my conflicting finals moved to earlier in the week. It will be crazy when the time comes because finals are monday and tuesday, Juries are on Wednesday, and then we fly out early Thursday morning! Three weeks touring with the choir, and then a week on my own with Brian and other friends, and then home again. Woo!!

This summer, (so this post is so choppy, but I have a class in a few minutes, so I'm just trying to get everything out!) I'll be living in Corvallis, or that's the plan anyway, As soon as I'm back from Europe I'll try and get a job, and then just work until Auditions in the fall! I thought I'd try a different line of work, waiter, or in an office or I don't know, something other than manual labor, but something tells me that I'll probably go back into something like that, more money, and I have experience doing that kind of work. It's only a summer right? Anyway, anything to keep me off the fact that Amy will be more than a thousand miles a way for the better part of 4 months. Sad :(

Regardless, we shall endeavor! And I shall now go to class. Oh and for all you choir geeks, the OSU Chamber Choir has the privilege of premiering a new David Childs piece and doing a performance with him conducting! I'm SO excited! Anyway just had to throw that out there. Very excited!

Anyway, hopefully there wont be as much time between posts this time! haha, right....

MUST UPDATE

So, this last week has flown by....but at the same time it currently feels like we've been here for a month. Crazy.

So exactly a week ago yesterday everyone got back to school! I picked up Amy from the Airport. I missed my exit to get to the Portland Sheet Music Service store and so we had quite an adventure getting back and finding it, only by the time we got there, we noticed it was closed. This was sad, but still a fun side trip. Anyway came back down to Corvallis where upon helping Amy get her stuff upstairs Rose came back to the dorms. We got all of her stuff upstairs and then not long after that, Amanda showed up. Then after getting her settled in, we heard Cass would be there soon, so we got dinner and finished the first episode of Firefly which had been started about three times earlier that day. Anyway, the point I guess is this week has run very much like the first day in that craziness was abound and we all had fun doing it!

Monday we all started classes again. Theory is going to nail me unless I really keep ahead and study a lot. I'm still hopeful though. I seem to be hopeful about a lot of things recently. Nothing wrong with it I think, as long as I can also stay realistic to a degree. Ah yes, the struggle to be balanced. Yet at the same time, if this metiphorical pendulum stayed 'balanced" it would be still, stagnant perhaps, and might then be associated with boringness. And that simply wont do. I'm not worried though.

Yeah, anyway...
Monday was great in that we all survived class and then Andrew and I ACTUALLY went to Dixon. We were so proud. Now to make those trips consistant. Yeah we'll see. Then after Dixon, I decided to act on something I had been pondering for quite some time. I went over to the dorms and asked Amy if she would like to go out sometime. I'm so original. *rolls eyes*. But regardless, she said yes. SWEET!!! yeah that was a happy day. Then we watched more Firefly! And Amanda and her amazing detective skills was able to deduce that I was there and all because of my stupid loud single clap thing I do. Yeah...anyway. Good times.

Moving on, The week was then FULL of hanging out with friends and Andrew already falling behind in work. Great how this works huh? But luckily today I've been working on it, and I'm about caught up. Go ME!!

So, you heard about Thursday and the longest day ever. Yes....hopefully never again. But none of that matters because the next day was Friday the 13th!! Of coures this was the day planned for Amy's and my first date. I thought I would be casual and not put any unneccessary pressure on her, so I showed up in just a T-shirt. Boy did I throw off the Universe. Amanda and Rose had guessed that I'd wear a button up shirt which by all means makes the most sense. However, I guess it was just a freak day. So we went to Outback which was awesome then to gelato! mmmm gelato. Then upon arriving back we walked around the campus a bit and then back home. We watched Firefly with the other girls when we got back and all was well! Such a great night!

Anyway...Saturday! drove up with Amy to Newberg to get my old passport and up to Portland to pick up my Libretto that I had ordered. Then we checked out the Scottish shop and headed home for the shindig that would ensue later on that evening. So Andrew and I cooked a bunch a food, too much in fact, but I believe it was pretty enjoyable. After that there was Firefly and DDR and merriment all around! An amazing week for sure. But wait there's more...

On Sunday, Amanda and I went up north and picked up Brittney and went to Jeremy's house to suprise him for a 21st birthday celebration. He was quite suprised, but more jet-lagged then anything. Twas fun though. Amanda and I made the most incredible come-back at trivial persuit! Then it was back to Corvallis. Finally, today Andrew and I actually made it back to Dixon, where ater our normal work-out we were joind by the girls for some Volleyball action!! That was Awesome! I must say, I've never enjoyed volleyball as much as I did today! Then we came back to the house for food, and then as always...DDR. But yes..then Jeremy came over and will be hanging out here in Corvallis tomorrow.

So, being as how I have class tommorrow at 9 I shall hit the hay!
Good night, and what an Incredible week!!

Wow. Longest school day ever.
I promise I'll put up a real update again soon. But not tonight, for I just got home from school!!
I started the morning leaving my house at 9:30. I finally pulled back into the driveway at 3:00am!!!

My god! Class, then voice lesson, then more class, then practice room for hour, more class....Opera rehearsal, then I got to clean Gill from 9:00pm to 2:30am. Needless to say, I'm tired. Yet I'm still very much happy and in a good mood. For I have had the most amazing week! And I promise...soon I'll actually update with something of value and not my schedule!

Oh well, time for bed.

He excels at violence, which is why Mal keeps him around, despite the legitimate concern that he might betray any one (or all) of them if the price is right.

Jayne has a big apetite for action, especially of the female variety.
He calls his favourite gun "Vera".

Other Possible Results...
KAYLEE: Mechanic WASH: Pilot INARA: Ambassador SIMON: Doctor JAYNE: Mercenary ZOE: Soldier RIVER: Fugitive MAL: Captain SAFFRON THE OPERATIVE SHEPHERD

So I just sang at a funeral today. Really sad. I got a phone call yesterday asking if I could sing there. I obviously said yes, but oh man. Luckily my mom helped me find an accompynist. So last night we had a quick rehearsal, and then it was on for today. The man who died sounded incredibly interesting. I felt kind of cold hearted for not feeling as sad as everyone, but oh well. The service went over very well though I think. Carol even had the music for Beethoven's Ave Maria, (one of my favorites). Anyway, it was easier this time than last time. This is the second funeral I've sung at, but now Atrell's has me listed, so if they need someone to sing they know that if I'm in town they can call me on relatively short basis. Also, this puts me on the list for Weddings. The only wedding I've ever performed in, other than my sister's, I played the piano in. Yeah....never again. Don't mind singing though, so we'll see.

Anyway, better subject. School is quickly approaching again. Excited am I! Home os great, but yeah...I'm ready to go back to Corvallis. Plus, New Year's Eve teased me so, Sleeping back in the house was cool.

My sister gets home from Iraq in 10 days!! My parents are headed over to Tennessee to greet her when she arrives back home. We are all very excited for her arrival. Please let the next ten days go ok.

I'm listening to Led Zepplin right now. Oh how I loves me my Led Zepplin. Actually in all honesty, I really don't listen to them that often, I have no idea what their names are, or when they toured through freakin Nebraska. I find, that I like specific groups or singers a lot, but rarely do I become obsessed. I guess it's hard for me to become obsessed with something. I really really enjoy some things, or I like a lot of stuff, but I don't know why I rarely seek a lot of information on a particular thing, or watch things religiously. Oh well. I kind of feel like a shallow person. I mean, I feel, there's no doubting that, but for some reason I feel like I'm not as passionate about things anymore. I realize this is not making much sense. I know that I don't have to like a certain celebrity, or type of government to be passionate, but I guess I feel like there are things or ideas or people or places out there that I don't know, and want to be interested in, but I'm just not. I should probably read more. Perhaps this is just a void I'm sensing and I need to ponder on some things for a while. Obviosly this wont be hard finding new things to learn about, as I am not very knowledgable on most subjects, but whatever.

Ok, so I just re-read that last paragraph. Yeah you can disregard that if you like...I don't even get it. I'm just ready for school I think. Yes.

So, as a parting gift I leave you with THIS!! HAHAHAHA!!!

I should put a subject here

Well it's that time again I guess........

We deemed my mountain bike "un-ride-able"(with hyphens cuz it's cool) yesterday. It can still be repaired, but a.)when I have more time and money, and b.) when I can talk to my dad's friend about a reduced price on the welding. They just HAD to try cutting through my frame huh? Stupid bike thieves at OSU. Anyway, so in the mean time, I had gone all term for the first time without a bike. I was fine if you must know, but I kinda missed it. So, when a cheapo bike came along, and the price was then cut in half, I had to jump at the opportunity. So I now have a replacement bike for the rest of the year, and this will hopefully turn into having two available bikes to ride in the future. The reason for this is, my original bike is a mountain bike, with big shocks and a heavier frame, and bigger tires, but this new bike is a road cycle with really small tires, no shocks, and a really light frame. Both have their place and both are extremely fun to ride. I had never had the experience of riding a street/road bicycle before until today. It was Awesome! Though I can tell I havn't riddin in a while. I went out down North Vally Road for a ways, then down the road you take to get to Hagg Lake, but left instead of right, because it was pouring, AND I was already tired. Kind of sad I realize compared to what I used to do, but it'll come back. I must pace myself though, I found it so fun because this new bike is so light to go as fast as I could, because my mountain bike could only go like half the speed I can on this bike. Anyway, to make a short story long, I will need to pace accordingly, but work my way back into riding! I'm excited!

moving on....

Last night was freakin Awesome! Had a shindig dinner and game night and it was really a lot of fun. We went to McCormick and Schmick's(sp?) and had tasty food and we even had curtains that closed at our booth. That added some extra privacy (pronounced the british way of course) and we even had chocolate mousse and other goodies for dessert. Good times. Anyway, after that we headed back to my house for general fun and frivolity! And much was had! We started with the Scene it game, but the Harry Potter edition. Yeah that was sweet! and then we moved on to Catch Phrase. I loved this game the most I think. Amanda and I seemed to be on relatively the same wavelength the whole time, which made for awesome energized guessing, but also resulted in laughing so hard I cried!! Love that game. Yeah so after that we then said goodbye to Beth and Mark *tear* but only for the evening. ;) Then we played the whoosit game, and that made for fun times, especially when we played it the opposite way by putting down what people hate the most instead of like, however this proved to be more of a challenge, so thus ended up being what people liked least instead of hated in part because of the original premise of the game. Anyway it was Amazing (that was for you Jeremy). The evening pretty much wrapped up after that. But It was truly a memorable night that will not be forgotten!

Speaking of not forgotten, I will not forget Memoirs of a Geisha. I really liked that movie. It turned out way better than I thought it would, and I really enjoyed the characters. Amanda really said it right when we were discussing it afterward, she said it was cool how there as no solid line between "good" and "bad" people. All the "good" characters still messed up from time to time and the "bad" people were still very much pityable, and you could understand their actions to an extent. I think that this is very much part of what makes this movie neat. Also, I was glad that they really made it clear that Geisha weren't prostitutes, but instead sold their trade. That they were walking works of art, that danced, sang, and made witty conversation to entertain the party. I thought that was neat. Anyway, I enjoyed that movie.

You know what I also am enjoying?.......this Fern Gully Soundtrack....It's very cool. I've had it for like a year on my computer, but never listened to it....as Rose shudders....but anyway, it's pretty good!

um...yeah.......um......sweet......

So I must also say, there is just something fun about going to a mall and trying on twelve-hundred dollar coats!! I had a grand ol' time with it. There's really no reason for it, but I thought it was kinda fun.

moving on....feeling kinda random......

I really hope next term starts out on a good note. I hope the whole thing goes well in general I guess. Although I can't see how it wont, I love the work I'm doing in my major, I have friends I care about, I get to TA in a freakin DANCE class!! and I have my hopes up for snow maybe. Probably wont happen, but one can wish right? I guess the point is really that I am entirely too lucky to be where I am now, but I'm also grateful for it. Here's to good times ahead I guess..

And I just got entirely too sentimental. Oh well.

But, good times I'm sure.

Oh, and if anyone would like to dance over the break, that can always be arranged..

must stay up late......get on the right schedule for work.
I'm like falling asleep right now though. sad.
I think I'll start playing a computer game. Crazy as that sounds! I think I shall try my hand at like SimCity again, or Age of Empires to go way back. Hey maybe I should play the Oregon Trail Game!!! That would be super. Perhaps.

or..

I could watch some LOTR that's always good clean fun!Either way, it seems that I wont make it till 2, which would be when my shift gets off, but hopefully I'll get close. In the famous words of Rose... I shall endeavor!!

And I'll stop now.

Home.
So I'm finally here, but not before..
driving mom to Portland,
Having lunch with Amanda,
taking a drug test for work on mon.,
and sitting in traffic in Dundee for like an hour.

SWEET!
Anyway, glad to be here, I have a doctor's appointment tommorrow though. Unfortunately the cough and congestion hasn't gone away, and now the throat burns, and I feel like there is a sharp rock in my throat. I figured I'd just get over it, but after talking to my mom (voice of reason) she said I should probably have the doc. look at it just in case, seeing as how, we have a whole month to kill anyway. So, tommorrow after taking Cass to the Airport at freakin 5 in the morning, and going to the doctor, I shall sleep, eat and drink, sleep, and be merry!!

I must brag really quick, my younger sister Brittney, just got a scholarship today from her theatre department! I'm so proud. Now she can afford to stay in school the rest of the year instead of dropping out and working for the time being. Yay.

Anyway...uh...I leave you with THIS!!
